MSP Airport is proud to highlight that an airport industry publication recently awarded two MSP concessions for their outstanding customer service efforts and retail concepts.

Local Marketplace, found near MSP’s Gate F6, is a Minnesota-inspired retailer that offers a lively slice of local culture. The popular destination recently won in the “Best Local-Inspired Store” category in the Airport Experience News (AXN) awards.

At Local Marketplace, operated by Airport Retail Group, visitors will find Minnesota-themed merchandise including a Snoopy lunchbox, a Betty Crocker cookbook, small-batch spice rubs, locally grown wild rice and maple syrups, to name only a few.

Delaware North, a leading national concessions firm operating at MSP, won the “Best Local Management Team” category, recognizing the team led by General Manager Pia McDonough and Assistant General Manager Cathy Sowka.

For Delaware North, McDonough and Sowka’s leadership of the firm’s restaurants, newsstands and specialty retail shops keeps them involved in a wide range of airport initiatives. That includes service on MSP’s Customer Service Action Council and active participation in waste-reduction and recycling initiatives with the MAC’s sustainability team.

Airport Experience News is a leading source of news on airport trends, passenger-focused amenities and industry happenings. The annual AXN awards recognize excellence in airport concessions.

Congratulations to both of MSP’s AXN award winners!
