The spring break travel season is in peak form at MSP Airport, with area flyers using the long winter as one more reason to seek out a sunny destination.
MSP has geared up with additional staff, more concessions to choose from and parking deals to make your trip through the airport smooth.
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) expects national spring break passenger volumes to approach pre-pandemic levels this year. MSP is projecting overall passenger volumes in 2023 to increase 10%. The TSA also provides travel tips at this web page.
The increase in travelers will also lead to more demand for parking, and MSP has more spots available for spring break this year than any previous year. The opening of the Silver Ramp last year added 3,500 parking spaces, and in January the Quick Ride Ramp reopened, providing another 1,300 spots. Visit our Prebooked Parking page to save $7 a day this month when you park for at least seven consecutive days.
- Also, for pick-up and drop-off at MSP, use these strategies to make your trip as fast and efficient as possible.
- Once inside the airport, you’ll notice that concessions are back in full force at MSP. Visitors who haven’t been here since spring break 2022 will find more than 20 new or reopened concession venues. A new Caribou Coffee is on Terminal 1’s baggage claim level, and a host of new restaurant choices are located on Concourse G near gates G17-G22, including Mill City Tavern and Crisp & Green.
- For pre-flight dining, you have options to simplify your airport experience at both terminals. At Terminal 1, MSP Order Now offers options for order ahead and pickup. At Terminal 2, travelers can order ahead from several restaurants and skip the lines.
- Several activities are also available for travelers, including balloon artists and musical performances. Find the full schedule here.
We look forward to seeing you soon at MSP!
