A high-volume route between MSP terminals will see significant construction beginning June 3 which will require detours for some motorists.
E. 70th Street is just east of Terminal 2 and connects 34th Ave to Post Rd. The current asphalt pavement on the nearly half-mile of E. 70th Street will be reconstructed. A new bike lane and utility improvements are also part of the project, which is expected to be completed in September.
Crews will work on one lane of the roadway at a time while maintaining eastbound traffic flow from Terminal 2 to Post Road throughout the project.
Post Road will maintain two-way traffic from Highway 5 through to the West Cell Phone Waiting Lot.
Traffic control measures and detour signage will be in place to guide motorists to take MN-5 W to 34th Ave S. to access Terminal 2 and Signature Aviation during the project.
