Per Minnesota Statute 626.8473, the Minneapolis-Saint Paul Airport Police Department (MSP APD) is required to develop a policy for the use of body-worn cameras (BWC). Agencies must also provide for public comment and input and post the written policy and its intent to implement a BWC program on their websites before body-worn cameras can be used in the field.
The MSP APD is now accepting comments from the public prior to implementing a BWC program.
Public comments are being accepted from Thursday, July 15, 2021, through Monday, August 16, 2021. Written comments will be accepted until 1 p.m. on August 16, 2021. In-person comments will close upon the conclusion of the full Commission meeting on August 16.
For information about how to comment on the program and to download the draft policy, please visit the MSP APD's Body-Worn Camera Program webpage.
